A large London garden which needed to incorporate a football pitch for the children, a garden office, a large entertaining space and generous planting. The terrace allows for al fresco dining, substantial space for a BBQ and outdoor furniture. An evergreen hedge screens the games pitch from the terrace, affording privacy and defining the spatial character of the garden. The pitch, which doubles up as a space to play boule, is lined with sleepers, a detail picked up in the pathway which takes you through the space. A spectators area with seating and large terracotta pots uses Breedon gravel as a ground treatment for a natural feel. The planting is a perennial / grass mix and incorporates a gravel garden with three water bowls to encourage wildlife and provide a tranquil atmosphere.
